What I do is if a restaurant consistently makes me wait over 10 minutes, is just stop going there. No way am I canceling, cherry picking a new order, driving there, and being in my car on the way faster than the 10 minutes it will still take at the slow ass restaurant I’m already at. So once I am aware that I should have canceled the order right when I walked in I’m 10 minutes into a likely 15 minute wait. Other than maybe once or twice I’ve always gotten the food in under 20 minutes. But if it is the normal “it’s coming” or “we’re bagging it now” garbage I don’t even realize until it’s been close to 10 minutes that this food is late as hell. If they tell me when I walk in that it will be 15+ minutes for the food (those restaurants are the real mvps) I walk right out. As the proud holder of a BA In Philosophy I have actually spent time considering if I’m falling for the sunk time fallacy in continuing to wait for these tardy orders and I really don’t think I am. Thanks for the rant, had to get that out. Since I was driving right by it anyway, decided to pop in to see if that assholes order found a driver. Normally wouldn't have taken it to begin, with but he was on the same street as the first guy so wth.Īfter I delivered, got another ping for the same place which got declined with lightning speed due to them being so slow. If I didn't have the other one, I would have taken the time to explain to him that i'd much rather be back on the road making money, instead of standing here in a stupid McD's waiting patiently. There were 3 other DD drivers waiting while the workers were dancing away and enjoying their super loud conversation about candy. A few days ago I was at McDonald's for a stacked order, this was Uber though.
